Morgan Grove is a Quaker and has grown up in its principles of simplicity, community, and justice. He is a practicing “doctor” of forests and communities, with an academic and professional background in environmental science, forestry, and design. For the past 30 years, Morgan has worked for the USDA Forest Service to promote the full-cycle care of trees, forests, and communities in the U.S. and internationally.
Since 2014, Morgan has worked to promote regenerative ecologies and urban wood reuse with municipalities, NGOs, and private businesses in the U.S. to advance job training, employment, and markets for furniture making and other household items. Morgan is also a lecturer at the Yale School of the Environment, where he teaches Urban Ecology and mentors both college and graduate students.
